Bring One, Gain One Outereach Campaign

On the first Sunday in May, May 7, we will begin an outreach campaign titled, Bring One, Gain One. This campaign, BOGO, will through the last Sunday in April, April 29, 2018.

The purpose of the campaign should be obvious. That is, to bring those people that we know who are outside of Christ, and outside of Church, to Christ, and to the Church. All of us know people in this predicament.

-We all have friends who are lost. We all have friends who are saved, but are not attending ch anywhere.

-We all have family members who are lost. We all have family members who are saved, but are not attending ch anywhere.

-We all have neighbors; co-workers; casual friends; a barber, a mechanic, a beautician, the list is endless.

Over the course of the next few weeks, you will be given information that will aid you in creating a list of prospects – people you can invite to our services.

As we begin the campaign, please note the following challenge to pray:

The Silent Minute

During the dark days of World War II, a British Major, Wellesley Tudor Pole, made a rather unique proposal to the entire British nation. He proposed that each night at 9:00 p.m., every British citizen stop whatever they were doing to pray for peace. This time of prayer was called The Silent Minute.

After King George VI and Prime Minister Winston Churchill endorsed the idea, it then began to be broadcast by the BBC each evening at 9:00 p.m. The signal was the chiming of Big Ben, and every willing Britisher paused from whatever they were doing at exactly 9:00 p.m. and prayed for peace for one minute. It was also endorsed by President Roosevelt.

At the end of the war, under interrogation, a high ranking German office was asked why he thought the Germans lost the war. He said, “During the war, you had a secret weapon for which we could find no counter measure, which we did not understand, but it was very powerful. It was associated with the striking of the Big Ben each evening. I believe you called it ‘The Silent Minute.’”

I am proposing herein to you that we employ this same tactic in our Bring One Gain One outreach campaign. I am asking that each and every one of us, exactly at 9:00 p.m. each evening for the duration of the campaign, pray for exactly one minute. I know that if we add this dimension to BOGO it will be an even greater success. I have listed on the back of this flyer a prayer guide containing suggestions for this one minute prayer.

I look forward to meeting all of you in prayer for our outreach campaign, exactly at 9:00 p.m., this evening, May 7.
