Wednesday Bible Study
Our Wednesday Bible studies, held at 6pm on Wednesday evenings, are informative, practical, interactive, and true to everyday life. We hold our Wednesday Bible studies in the church fellowship hall. This setting provides a relaxed atmosphere where each member is encouraged to share their thoughts and questions on the topic at hand. No question is ever wrong, and every opinion is important. Our studies are challneging in that they will cause you to think about your personal relationship with God. Nothing is more important in this life than your relationship with God.
Our current study is titled Prepared, and deals with how the Bible relates to the everyday current events of life. It is our belief that the more prepared you are for the realities of life the closer you are to God, and the closer you are to God the more prepared you are for life.
Please be my guest, at your earliest possible convience, for a Wednesday evening of Bible study and fellowship. The following is a sample taken from the first session of our current study, Prepared:
Prepared
Introduction, Setting the Stage
We begin a new study tonight titled, Prepared. We are going to cover a multiplicity of issues in this study. You may have never thought that some of these issues were in the Bible. It is my belief that every issue we face in life can be found in the Bible. It is my belief, that the solution to every problem we face in life can be found in the Bible. We will cover such topics as:
-Religion in public life -Family and life issues -Political Participation
-Foreign policy and world issues -Law and society -Economics
Each one of the above topics will be subdivided into several parts. For instance, law and society will be divided into such things as racism, social injustice, and other pressing issues of the day. The key is, the Bible speaks to each one of these issues.
Please understand that I am not an expert on any of the above issues. I am however a follower of Christ, a pastor, a student of the Word of God, and someone who loves The Church. As such, I have a responsibility to share what I do know, from His Word, with those that I have contact.
In this study, as in all studies, we will have differing opinions. It is not my intention to give you my opinion. I intend to address each issue we study from Scripture, and I will give you Bible verses to substantiate my position. If you disagree, and that is your right, I only have one request. I ask that you also give Scripture to substantiate your position.
As I said before, I am not an expert. This study will simply be my best effort at this time in my life. Our opinions my change, or should I say grow, as we mature in Christ. Let’s begin.
Romans 13:1-2 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
Government: The system of authority that rules over a nation, state, city or other organization.
Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
One of the founding Fathers of our great nation said this: I have always said and always will say that the studious perusal of the Sacred Volume [the Bible] will make us better citizens…Thomas Jefferson
Currently, people want to know more about the social and political issues of our day. George Barna revealed this remarkable fact to us in August of 2015. His research also revealed an odd behavioral pattern. People who label themselves as conservatives (especially Christian conservatives) don’t speak up.
The Reason: The reason they, or we, don’t speak up is surprising, and revealing. Conservatives don’t speak up because they don’t know what to say. Notice what this means:
-People don’t know how to state a biblical basis for their convictions. The survey revealed that conservative people hold strong political and spiritual beliefs, but they don’t know how to express those beliefs.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the above excerpt taken from the first session of our current study. If you would like to know what the Bible says about the current, everyday topics of life, join us on Wednesday evenings, it will be our pleasure to have you with us.
